Radiant heating method is gaining high popularity at present. It is a method of warming a room by heating any of its surfaces such as walls or a floor. The old method of warming was equipped with radiators that were located in the corners of the room. But the problem with this system was that in order to warm the whole room they used to get very hot, and if a person touched them by chance he could get burned. Another minus of this technique was that they warmed the room non-uniformly, mostly the space around them when simultaneously in the opposite corner of the room it was still cold. The up-to-date technique of radiant heating is totally different thanks to utilizing broad surfaces. The mechanism of tool is based on thermal radiation and is similar to the previous systems. Temperature and heating radiation are characteristics of any object. The ability of objects to take up heat from nearby structures permits to use heated floor to warm your feet, for example. One more tool of heating is often called forced air system. Its destination is to blow warmed air into the rooms. The disadvantage of this system is that forced air warms small parts of different origin: dust, spores, mold and others, so this system can not be applied in the houses where people with allergies live. Besides, hot air has just local action, it does not warm the room. As regards radiant heating technique, it is constructed to let the heat rise uniformly from the floor, in this way, the room is warmed evenly and supports the temperature during longer period of time. The radiant heating technique is highly effective in large houses. Forced air technique works for small houses, but don't forget about allergy problems. Make sure your home is insulated, so the heat won't be lost through windows chinks or ceiling. There are three types of radiant heating: electric system founded on electric cables, air system founded on hot air under the floor, and hydronics founded on the application of hot water under the floor. Heating methods are numerous and it's up to you to decide which one suits your best. But as the practical experience shows the most efficient way to warm a house is radiant heating. |
